Welsh Academy English-Welsh Dictionary

The Welsh Academy English-Welsh Dictionary (Geiriadur yr Academi) is a free online English-to-Welsh dictionary developed by the Language Technologies Unit at Canolfan Bedwyr, Bangor University. It is a digitised version of the dictionary first published in 1995 by the University of Wales Press under editors Bruce Griffiths and Dafydd Glyn Jones. According to techiaith.bangor.ac.uk, the work is considered to be the first modern comprehensive unidirectional English-to-Welsh dictionary, and welsh-dictionary.ac.uk describes it as the main English-Welsh dictionary prepared by Bruce Griffiths and Dafydd Glyn Jones.

It does not suit learners who have met an unfamiliar Welsh word and need to look up its meaning in English. Because it is a unidirectional English-to-Welsh dictionary, you cannot search it from Welsh into English.
